MARSEILLE CANAL IN SAINT-MARCEL
Canal from Marseille to Saint-Marcel, 80 km long with eighteen bridges, offering a nice bucolic stroll in the greenery.
Built from 1839, the Marseille Canal would definitively change the life of the people of Marseille and even the city itself. 80 km long, some 18 bridges built for the occasion. The achievement is considerable and decisive for the Phocaean city. We propose you here a pretty bucolic walk in the greenery, along a small section of the canal, in the old (and very historical) district of Saint-Marcel. From the Saint-Marcel park, go around the crèche to the gate of the château de Forbin. Turn left until you cross the canal where the path starts.
