MOTORCYCLE MUSEUM
The motorcycle museum installed in an old building in La Palud, retracing the history of two-wheeled motor vehicles since their origins
Since November 1989, the Musée de la Moto in the Merlan district has been housed in the former Moulin de la Palud. It traces the history of motorized two-wheelers from their origins in 1885 to the present day. Over 1,200m² spread over 4 floors dedicated to each era, don't miss the period of vehicles used in the First and Second World Wars. Over 120 collectors' items and a number of curiosities are displayed with panache. Nostalgia for a time when the first motorcycles had a gearshift, and Ed's famous Honda CB750 was at the top of the range. All the major French, American and Japanese brands are represented, as are the legendary Magnat-Delbon, Terrot and Gnome models, which still haunt the memories of motorcycle enthusiasts. A separate exhibition is devoted to Italian motorcycles since 1900, with models that have their own story to tell, such as the record-breaking motorcycle built by Henri Nougier. The restoration workshop, run by passionate mechanics, is also open to visitors. These enthusiasts of beautiful bodies and large cylinders manage this famous fleet of historic machines.
