In his workshop, Marc Porcheddu, créchiste by profession, works tirelessly to recreate a world of Provencal Christmas cribs. Distinct from santonniers, the crechist's trade consists in the essential fabrication of decorations, buildings and accessories, so that the santons can be arranged in an increasingly realistic world of miniature Provencal villages. It's all done by hand, without the use of molds, which can take dozens of hours on a single building, for example. Specific orders from private customers are pouring in. A great success story.
