MARCHÉ AUX PUCES DE MARSEILLE
Located on the chemin de la Madrague, initially in the former premises of the Alsthom establishments since 1988, the Marseille flea market now covers more than 3 hectares with 17,000 m² of commercial space. In addition to its famous flea market, it has become a real commercial center (large food market, Lidl store...). Every day, many individuals and professional merchants come to unpack their treasures found in the cellars and attics visited. Plastic trinkets or various objects of relative value, it's all the chance of the hunt that makes the adrenaline of the true collector rise. The flea market remains a parallel place of sale between private individuals, an informal platform where to find an alabaster vase or spare parts for cars. The gallery of antique dealers (a 1,500m2 warehouse) attracts many people. Dealers, who sell objects to each other, and amateur customers. Production companies find accessories for their next films and even Italian and Anglo-Saxon antique dealers know the address. A public place with about forty stores open every day except Monday, to which is added, on weekends, the unpacking of the numerous second-hand dealers around the gallery. A colorful bazaar!
