SAILOR'S DALE
A neighborhood where painters and artists lived at the end of the 19th century, offering a superb view of the port of Estaque.
The vallon du Marinier is a district of l'Estaque, home to painters and artists in the late 19th century. A steep-sided valley surrounded by spendid hills, it can be reached via the viaduct tunnel. At the end of the path, take the footpath to one of the sites where Cézanne and Renoir settled together in 1882. Here you can admire the landscape of the Rochers de l'Estaque. Take advantage of your visit to explore the "chemin des peintres", an intimate stroll featuring the work of artists such as Derain, Braque, Marquet, Monticelli and Renoir...
