THÉÂTRE DE L’ŒUVRE
In the heart of the city, a small narrow facade conceals a nice little theater at the "Italian" of 170 seats, all capitalized red, baroque style, one of the oldest and most beautiful theaters in Marseille. Insolite on these streets rather deserted by culture for decades. Originally, the "Peace" society, created in 1930 by Bruno Barucca, is an association of "Law 1901" with essentially humanistic vocation. After the war, she moved to Mission-de-France Street, an old building badly damaged by the fire of the New Galleries. It creates, thanks to the work and dedication of its members, a second theater. This is the one we know today, inaugurated in 1965. To the program: open scenes, debates, tales of stories, conferences on citizens' news, theater plays, dance courses and various activists throughout the year. A rich program that you will find online season by season.
