Les Rencontres d'Averroès is an event that opens a moment of reflection and information on the countries' cultures on both shores of the Mediterranean around round tables, conferences, debates, shows, live radio. Researchers, sociologists, writers, and philosophers exchange the latest issues. Each edition has a thread and invites the public to share their common thoughts. Some sessions are broadcast on France Culture and available in podcast. This great audience makes Rencontres d'Averroès one of the most important places of reflection and debate on the contemporary Mediterranean. Young people can also participate through the specific program of Averroës Junior. A way to make them aware of the complexity of the world around them very soon. Les Rencontres d'Averroès were created by Thierry Fabre, head of the Department of Cultural Development and International Relations of the Mucem.
