Spread throughout the city, the museums of Marseille are recognized for the quality and rich heritage of their collections, which represent almost 120,000 works: The Museum of Fine Arts of Palais Longchamp, Château Borély which now hosts the Museum of Decorative Arts, fashion and earthenware, Museum of History and Ancient Port, 26 centuries since the foundation of Massalia by the Phocéens, Memorial of the Marseillaise, in the district of Belsunce, which highlights the history with a lively and breathtaking scenography, wonderful Old Charity, the Roman Docks Museum, the MAC (Museum of Contemporary Art), the Cantini Museum, Museum of Natural History, the Grobet-Labadié Museum. The museums of Marseille, as well as the Natural History Museum and the Cabinet of Coins and Medals, all received the label "Musées de France" in 2003. The Museums Department of the Cultural Action Direction of the City of Marseille manages 12 of the museums that are presented here. To discover and rediscover in 2018!
