PÉTRIN COUCHETTE
Bakery-café with a lovely terrace at the bottom of Rue d'Aubagne, serving good bread and sandwiches at lunchtime.
On a lively little square linking the rue d'Aubagne to the cours Saint-Louis, Pétrin Couchette has succeeded in carving out a place for itself by rolling out a pretty terrace, adding an extra touch of comfort to a place already brought to life by the neighboring Mercerie and the Hôtel Saint-Louis bistro. A raw interior, organized around a counter serving hot drinks and snacks, and selling the delicious bread made here in the kneading trough visible behind the bay windows. Whether it's farmhouse or sandwich bread, focaccia or rye pie, lovers of good bread will be delighted with this new, very central address. On the other hand, at lunchtime, a simple ham and butter at 8 euros, in a working-class neighborhood like Noailles, is questionable.
