A fine gourmet address with a sunny terrace, offering homemade cuisine and an extensive wine list.
Laurent Tubau was born and raised on the Old Port. Here, as in his own home, he treats locals and tourists alike to the sunny terrace of his (exclusively wild) fish establishment. With a breathtaking view of Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde, L'Hippocampe serves home-style cuisine. Choose from pan-fried cuttlefish, the famous traditional aioli, or bouillabaisse for 2 served in 2 courses. Other house specialties include the Plancha plate (gambas, gurnard fillet, hake fillet, sardine fillets, fresh cuttlefish), sole meunière or grilled sole, or spaghetti with seafood, garlic and parsley... The wine list is refocused on Bouches-du-Rhône AOC wines and the unmissable Bandol wines. Finally, try the iced nougat, the warm apple tart with Bourbon vanilla ice cream or the Miroir orange Grand-Marnier... Everything is fresh and homemade. Highly recommended by the Petit Futé.
