COMITÉ DÉPARTEMENTAL OLYMPIQUE ET SPORTIF DES BOUCHES-DU-RHÔNE (CDOS)
A departmental declination of the French National Olympic and Sports committee (CNOSF), the aim of the CDOS is to highlight all sports disciplines, particularly those that are less well known, in the spirit of Olympism: non-violence, respect for all nationalities, prohibition of doping substances… The CDOS des Bouches-du-Rhône, created in 1982, is the spokesperson for the committees and clubs of the department and focuses on neighbourhoods in difficulty. Today there are 69 adhérents committees, 4 400 clubs and nearly 420 000 licensees. The CDOS makes available to the departmental committees of meeting rooms, a sono with microphones, a video projector, walkie-talkie and documentation for the setting up of exhibitions on health, welfare, doping, Olympic Games…
