Center de la Vieille-Charité, with a central chapel with an ovoid dome hosting permanent and temporary exhibitions.

The centre of the Vieille-Charité is located in the heart of the Basket. Formerly a hospice for the destitute designed by the architect Pierre Puget, this building now houses the Museum of Mediterranean Archaeology, the Museum of African, Oceanian and Amerindian Arts as well as the International Poetry Centre. Admire the central chapel with its ovoid dome, in the purest Italian Baroque style. The permanent exhibitions are rich and the temporary ones as varied as they are exciting.
