PLACE DES 13 CANTONS
Emblematic place of the Panier in Marseille, a remarkable site where some scenes of the movie Borsalino were shot.
This emblematic square of the Basket is said to have inspired the series Plus belle la vie and its famous square of the Mistral, so typical and lively. Its postcard decoration should not make you forget its history. Its name would come from an inn created there two centuries ago by a Swiss man who wanted to pay tribute to the 13 cantons of his native country. In reality, this name is only the French version, and therefore mistranslated, of the Provençal tres cantoun, meaning "three corners". With the revolution and the standardization of the French language, Cantoun became a "corner". It is here that the writer Izzo will write the first lines of his Marseille trilogy and that some scenes from the film Borsalino will be shot.
