MARY MADELEINE
A new gourmet den at the foot of the Panier, with Marjorie's melting, delicately flavoured madeleines.
Freshly opened at the foot of Marseille's oldest district, Mary Madeleine (a play on words in a town where the saint is said to have stopped off on her way to Saint-Maximin) is an addictive stopover you won't want to miss once you've tried it. It was Marjorie's brilliant idea to offer her madeleines with lemon, chocolate, praline or rose. A small counter overlooking the street and a promise of gourmet delights. The still-warm madeleines are tender and melt-in-the-mouth. A plunge into childhood.
