LE GYPTIS - CINÉMA, IMAGES, ARTS DE LA SCÈNE
The Gyptis was one of the first cinemas in the city in 1913 and was transformed into a theatre until 1987. In 2013, following the departure of the company Chatôt-Vouyoucas which created it, the theatre and La Wasteland la Belle de May came Closer to making the Gyptis to its primary vocation: the 7 th Art! We now discover his new facade, a work of "Marseille faces" by JR. Inside: a pilot room where you organise conferences, meetings, small stage shapes, avant-garde. In August 2016, Le Gyptis was officially classified as Art and Trial and carries the three LABELS labels: Research and Discovery, Young Public and Heritage. Last September, he received a special mention at the CNC Innovation Award for his programming, entrusted to Shellac, distributor and film producer located in Wasteland. Good reasons to see or rediscover genres around the world through cycles and themes that will delight fans (retrospective of a director, artistic current, etc). Don't miss on Tuesday evening, the directory, with a masterpiece of film heritage, as well as on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays late in the afternoon, meetings for the young public and families, at low prices for all.
