ESPACE MÉDITERRANÉEN DE L’ADOLESCENCE (EMA)
The tenacious will of the @ Marcel Rufo, the most media-friendly child psychiatrist in France, this hospital, piloted by the AP-HM, with various medico-social partners, National Education and Territorial communities, was inaugurated in Marseille at the end of June 2012. It was in the premises of the former Salvator Hospital that this new unit was born. An innovative establishment, unique in France in its specificity. Taking care of outstanding teens is very serious here. Post-crisis care, integrating somatic care, is prolonged by complete psychic monitoring, which gives culture an essential, even protective, place. Cultural mediation and school accompaniment are not abondonnés to others. They are part of the global support of ado in a centre that is entirely dedicated to it. Of course, the family, the family, the relatives are not excluded. On the contrary, in this hospital, the space is open, coloured, luminous. The walls are decorated with colour colors, evocative inscriptions. In the rooms, with beds on beds, shelving for books, desk for computer or other playstation, create a whole environment that makes more think of a youth hostel than a hospital. The teen is looking after and rebuilding.
