Renowned Chilean restaurant serving highly aromatic South American cuisine near Marseille's lively La Plaine district.
A change of scenery, welcoming and delicious. This Chilean restaurant is held by Cristobal, a Santiago de Chile's native. Located near the Plaine district, it offers you a South American culinary trip in the heart of Provence. Behind its large counter Cristobal prepares pisco sour, a cocktail made with Andean grape brandy. Immediate take-off guaranteed. We are greeted by sunny Latin music, and we sit at school tables, in a minimalist setting. On the menu, you might as well immediately mention the delicious ceviche, fish and raw octopus marinated in lemon and seasoned, because here we are in Marseille, the fish is fresh and excellent. Combined with Chilean expertise, it's delicious. If you prefer more hearty dishes, opt for empanadas, these famous baked or fried little turnovers, stuffed with meat, cheese, shrimp or scallops. Other South American specialities include causa peruana, a cold starter made with chicken, avocado, potato, onions, but also Chanco Costillar, a caramelized pork spare rib. Accompanied by Chilean wines, the meal ends with a dessert with dulce de leche (milk cream). It is understandable that this restaurant has many afficionados, and that at peak hours, the seats are expensive.
