A former neighborhood butcher's shop has been converted into a canteen open for lunch on weekdays, offering fresh, tasty dishes at very reasonable prices.
A discreet new sensation about to explode on the Plaine side of town, Davaï is a canteen-caterer opened by a duo of self-taught chefs who previously worked at the Cantine du Midi in Belle-de-Mai. This former butcher's shop, now a small bistro, serves up simple, tasty suggestions every lunchtime, without breaking the bank. Provençal-style squid or roast potatoes, soft-boiled egg, fromage frais and fresh herbs in veggie mode. It's fresh and well-presented, and you serve yourself water from the fountain as if you were in a canteen. We love this kind of no-fuss address, and a real treat.
