LE ROSTAND
A new bistro in Marseille's antiquarian district, offering seasonal cuisine and sometimes daring dishes.
Opened in place of an old café that had outlived its usefulness, this new bistro occupies a prime location, overlooking the lively square that borders Rue Rostand and Rue Saint-Suffren. Inside, the decor is both sober and classy, with a quiet upstairs dining room. Smiling, young service, we're delighted with suggestions like this very successful Caesar salad, with crispy homemade chicken, which we really enjoyed. The salad with spinach shoots, red mullet fillets and grapefruit was equally appealing. And to finish on a sweet note, one of the best lemon tarts in town, bold, unstructured and well-balanced.
