Burgers, tapas, Friday aioli and locavore cuisine in a charming and famous bistro on Marseille's Old Port.

L'Incontournable Bar de la Marine has changed hands and is making a new start. It is in this charming estaminet that the Pagnol trilogy with Marius, César and Fanny was filmed or, more recently, the romantic comedy Love Actually. With the new team, the setting has been renovated and the cuisine is locavore. Fresh products and home-made dishes with a wide choice on the slate at lunchtime: supions marseillais and home-made fries, roasted cod, sweet potato purée, roasted octopus with ras el hanout... In the evening, a nice selection of tapas accompanied by a bottle of fresh rosé from the region and the atmosphere does the rest! An address recommended by the Petit Futé.

En souvenir des films de Pagnol, nous avons décidé de visiter le Bar de la Marine sur le Vieux Port à Marseille. Accueil chaleureux et typiquement marseillais. Décor d'origine. A voir et y aller pour déguster une boisson ou un petit plat face à la Marina. Très agréable.

Visited because we love Love Actually. The staff are brilliant. Very personable, friendly and attentive. Had the burger. Very, very tasty. Cooked as requested, juicy, meaty no fat or gristle. Chocolate mouse was a rich, firm mousse. Shame more people not in. Don't pass by, pop in. We will certainly be back. We will tell you when and thank you for the offer of meeting Colin, that would be great.
