A large number of browsers (Franck Cammas among others) and boaters started learning at the UNM where they went through one day or the other. This yacht club, created in 1882, is the oldest in Marseille and the second oldest in France. Today installed in the Anse de la Réserve (just before the Phare lighthouse), since the 60 s, this club has been a sailing school since 1951. This was once again the first of Marseille. The club's activities, reserved for its members, are diversified and can also be used in diving, recreational fishing and underwater hunting. The club is also equipped with a restaurant that is open 7 J/7 noon and evening. The establishment, which was renovated in 2012, has an exceptional setting with a magnificent view of the Old Port and the Mucem. On the side of the kitchen, UNM took the Italian accent and, among other things, proposes a mozzarella bar.

It is a meeting place of all the trendy marseille. This club which was originally only frequented by lovers of sea became a club for lovers of good flesh.
