This magnificent castle, at the foot of hiking massifs, is set on the heights of a huge park near the sea at a stone's throw from Pointe Rouge. Built under the Second Empire, it was originally intended for the President of the Chamber of Commerce Jean-Baptiste Pastré. If the place has lost some of its attractions (the collections have moved), the place is always the pretext for lovely walks, towards the equestrian centre, the Grotte Roland, La Clairière.

Cet endroit encore préservé est accessible au public (pour le parc) mais les places de stationnement quasi inexistantes. Cependant le lieu vaut le détour de l'extérieur pour admirer cette belle bastide.
Small remote jewel, the Pastré castle is one of the rare castles of Marseille. Its grounds is open to the public and the calanques.
Parking is difficult, it is better privileged bus or bike (20 minutes).
Before arriving at the Museum of earthenware I advise you to stroll in the beautiful garden Pastré countryside or picnic even picnic! avoid the veek-end much children the districts. The toured country house that houses the museum and even if the floors fissure do not hesitate to go up to the top floor, you will be rewarded by the view of the bay of Marseille.
