PASTORAL CAMPAIGN
Domain with an adventure park in Marseille, organizing all types of outdoor activities with courses for young and old.
First things first: since 2013, the Musée de la Faïence in the Bastide Pastré has been closed for good! Today, all the earthenware collections have been integrated into the Musée des Arts décoratifs, de la Faïence et de la Mode housed in the Château Borély - renovated and open since June 2013. Once a parched garrigue, this land was transformed in the 19th century by an irrigation canal. It is associated, in the memory of Marseillais, with the Pastré family, who built up the estate between 1836 and 1853 and bequeathed it to the city! Three bastides were built on the 120-hectare estate. One of them, the Château Pastré, housed the earthenware collections until Marseille became European Capital of Culture in 2013. However, don't miss the immense 120-hectare park, with its superb wooded areas and meadows housing two artificial lakes: the natural vegetation, in addition to the garrigue that covers the hillsides, is essentially made up of Aleppo pines, holm oaks, laurel-tins and that variety of juniper called "mourven" in Provençal. Beyond the park, the hills of Marseilleveyre lie in their natural limestone setting, the starting point for many hikes: a hundred hectares of natural areas covered with paths between pines, holm oaks, broom and arbutus. At the top of a tough climb, you'll enjoy a breathtaking view of Marseille harbor! A marvel! An ideal site for all kinds of outdoor activities: picnics, walks, hikes, lazing around... An adventure park organizes courses for young and old alike.
