PARAPENTES DE LA SAINTE VICTOIRE
It was in 1984 that William Kolarovic performed the first paragliding flight in Sainte-Victoire. Four years later, the club des Gliders de la Sainte-Victoire was born. Today, he brings together 150 licensed flying riders, some of whom have joined paragliding… Grenoble or Saint-Gervais. The local practice sites are, in addition to the great site Sainte-Victoire (pic des Mouches), Le Garlaban (La Croix), La Sainte-Baume (in the north, facing the Hostellerie de Plan d'Bellevue), Cuges-les Pins and Gemenos (Le Cruvelier) and Marseille (Les Goudes). The aim of the club is to promote the practice of free flight in Provence by insisting on safety and friendliness. The club manages the sites by planning and maintaining spaces of landing and take-off, respecting the protected natural spaces (management of the massif and trails, protection of the eagles of Bonelli, taking into account fire risks…), in cooperation with local communities and private owners. A weather tag and panels were installed where this is permitted. Scheduling of pilotage courses.
