MUSEUM OF THE UNIFORM OF THE FOREIGN LEGION
Museum presenting an exceptional collection of mannequins illustrating in five rooms the evolution of the legionnaire's uniform
Dedicated to the white kepi, Captain Danjou's estate, an annex of the Aubagne Foreign Legion Museum, presents an exceptional collection of 100 mannequins illustrating in five rooms the evolution of the legionnaire's uniform from 1831 - the date the Foreign Legion was created - to 1962, when the Legion left Algeria to join Aubagne. This site is also a living place because it is here in the Hall of Honour that the future legionnaire receives his contract of employment at the same time as his assignment unit. He returns at the end of his missions to receive his certificate of good conduct before returning to civilian life. A visit is essential for all enthusiasts.
