ASSOCIATION DES VIGNERONS DE LA SAINTE-VICTOIRE

Between the Sainte-Victoire mountain and the Mont Aurélien, in a gentle landscape of hills and plateaus, lies the Côtes de Provence Sainte-Victoire appellation, in the heart of a vineyard dating back to antiquity. The Sainte-Victoire was the first in the PACA region to be awarded the "Grand Site de France" label, and its wines have a strong, authentic image based on an exceptional, strictly defined terroir, poor, shallow soils ventilated by the Mistral wind, and a low yield. Since 1987, the Sainte-Victoire winegrowers have joined forces to defend the typicality of their land and their wines. They obtained the "Sainte-Victoire" terroir designation in 2005. The association brings together 28 independent winegrowers and 4 cooperative wineries, spread over the 9 communes of the appellation: Trets, Puyloubier, Peynier, Le Tholonet, Rousset, Saint Antonin sur Bayon and Châteauneuf-le-Rouge in the Bouches-du-Rhône, to which Pourcieux and Pourrières in the Var are added. The vinothèque, the association's headquarters, is located in the sumptuous vaulted cellar of the Château de Trets, where you can discover the wines of the various estates. The rosés, the jewel of the appellation, are bright, fruity and particularly fine. The reds, harmonious and full-bodied, are intended for ageing. As for the whites (currently being recognised as AOC Côtes de Provence Sainte-Victoire), they develop refined aromas of pear and citrus fruit. Rosé, red and white wines are regularly awarded medals in competitions and professional guides. Free guided tours of the vineyards on Saturday morning. Sale of members' wines at the wine library.
