CARNAVAL DE SAINT-RÉMY-DE-PROVENCE

Every end of March, the streets of Saint-Rémy celebrate the carnival with the old witch Chauche.
If Provence is not necessarily as famous as other regions in terms of carnivals, some are worth a look. Starting with that of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. A traditional carnival that takes place every end of March and where the spring equinox is celebrated. The central figure of this carnival is the "chauche vieille", a witch recalling the pagan and medieval origins of these festivities. Good atmosphere and good food too.
