THE AVIATION MUSEUM
Municipal museum of aviation, with a magnificent lighted hangar, to admire objects, from parachutes to paragliders
Located in the center of this small town, here no Bonne Mère, no Sainte-Victoire, no beach but a museum of aviation to discover absolutely! The Municipal Aviation Museum of St Victoret opened in 2004 and has been renovated and enlarged recently. It is animated by a team of about thirty volunteers, including former aviation professionals, who are constantly improving and enriching a unique collection in France. They are the ones who comment all the visits, whether you are alone or in a group and they are absolutely fascinating. In the large exhibition hall of this magnificent and luminous hangar, you can admire about thirty flying objects, old and recent, from parachutes, paragliders and gliders to helicopters and fighter planes, including the Mirage III used at the end of the 1960s as a flight simulator for the Concorde program. Children can also climb into the cabin of a Canadair. Also, for the more enthusiastic, engines and other turbines, jet engines and on-board instruments to life-size mannequins in aeronautical clothing through the ages. Finally, there is a projection room where you can sit in real Air France Boeing 777 seats and watch films. And finally, on the first floor, a unique collection of more than 5,000 models, a collector's jewel that many museums would like to have. This museum will make the eyes of children and adults shine!
