Restaurant with terrace offering a simple and varied cuisine in a well-stocked menu in Tarascon.

Restaurant du Château is an unpretentious small restaurant, but not necessarily bland. The inner room is nice, a bit intimate. The linoleum floor is not appropriate but everything is clean. The terrace offers a breathtaking view of Château de Tarascon. Here, no formalities or pom-pom duss, the waiter will not welcome you in black tuxedo, but the boss himself will come to meet you. A bit boastful, he will offer you a simple and quite varied cuisine. Two formulas at choice: we took a blanquette that was utterly correct; a menu that i quite comprehensive and pizzas, quick service… An address to keep by your side if you have to pass through Tarascon and that you have little time for lunch.

Though I didn't try the food at this charming place right in front of Tarascon's old castle, the coffee they served was nothing short of excellent. At first, the owner may seem a bit reserved, but don't let that fool you. Give it some time, and you'll discover a warm, friendly individual who greatly enhances the overall dining experience. A hidden gem in the heart of Tarascon, definitely worth a visit for a relaxing coffee break with a stunning view.

Empfang war ganz ok, aber ansonsten kein guter Service. Es war Sonntag, Tarascon hatte ein Fest, das Lokal war voll. Tatsächlich nur 2 Personen, die bedienen. Deshalb sage ich nichts zu der Wartezeit. Der Tisch wurde eingedeckt. Wieso muss eine Bedienung Messer und Gabel vorne anfassen und hinlegen. An den Stellen die der Gast später in den Mund nimmt? Wieso weiß ein Kellner nicht, dass man eine Wasserkaraffe nicht in der Faust am Ausgießer, schlendern an den Tisch bringt. Auf unsere 2. Frage nach Eiswürfeln hat er sich einfach weggedreht und später als er das Essen gebracht hat nochmal. Das Wasser war warm, der Wein auch. Es waren an diesem Tag über 30 Grad. Das wunderbare Schweinekotelett (25 €) war leider 'totgebraten' also viel zu trocken, leider. Wirklich schade. Die Dorade royal (20 €), die mein Mann bestellt hat, hat gut geschmeckt war aber leider ebenfalls zu trocken. Ein paar Tische weiter sehen wir, dass der Espresso in kleinen Pappbechern serviert wird. Vielleicht nur heute - kann sein. Wollen wir nicht, auch kein Dessert. Es ist zu ungemütlich und zu unfreundlich. Wir gehen lieber. Wer an solchen Tagen das Geschäft machen will, sollte entsprechend gerüstet sein. Vor allen Dingen, was das Personal angeht. Dann haben auch alle bessere Laune. Die beiden (ich fürchte, es waren sogar die Besitzer des Lokals) waren total überfordert.

Le café allongé ( pas très allongé, soit-dit en passant) à 2,60 € c'est un peu cher !
