The Kilmaine barracks were built between 1718 and 1757, according to the plans of the Montpellier architect Desfour
Today, the soldiers are gone, but as a witness of this martial grandeur, the Kilmaine barracks, built between 1718 and 1757, according to the plans of the Montpellier architect Desfour, remain. Originally occupied by the Dragons, until the beginning of the 20th century, then by the XIth Hussar Regiment, until 1914, they became a mobilization and selection center before closing their doors for good in 2000.
The interior of the buildings cannot be visited.
