MAISON OGIER -LE CLOS DE L’ORATOIRE DES PAPES
Maison Ogier was built in the 19th century in Moorish-style crenelated buildings. Étienne Ogier and his son Antoine, who were wine merchants at the time, set up their activity on the site of a former cooper in the heart of the Châteauneuf du Pape village.
Today, Maison Ogier stands out by its approach to the development of the 4 terroirs of Châteauneuf du Pape and those of the main names of the Rhône Valley through partnerships with wine growers.
With Le Clos de l'Oratoire des Papes in AOC Châteauneuf-du-Pape and the organic estate Notre Dame de Cousignac, the house guarantees you an experience in the Rhône Valley. Created in 1880, the Clos de l'Oratoire des Papes is a mythical wine of the name Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The vineyard consists of 25 hectares worked in reasoned agriculture. In 2015, an additional 2 ha on the Safres terroir, in the place called Étang Salé came to complement the parcels of Le Clos de l'Oratoire. A renovated 16th-century priory houses the vinification site and privatizable reception areas.
