THE ABBEY SAINTE-MADELEINE DU BARROUX
An abbey located in Le Barroux, receiving people wishing to make individual retreats lasting a maximum of one week.
Its massive silhouette stands out on the road to Malaucène. Mass and services are held in Latin, punctuated by Gregorian chants. Retreats are also possible. At the entrance to the church, you'll see a stone engraved with the monastery's motto "Pax in lumine" (peace in light). The abbey was recognized by the Holy See in 1989 as a fully-fledged Catholic Benedictine monastery. The monks apply the "ora et labora" rule of St. Benedict.
