Saint-Hilaire Abbey is a beautiful Gothic building built by the Carmelite monks on an ancient religious site.
The best way to start your visit is on the walking tour, which plays hide-and-seek with the abbey. It doesn't take very long - just 15 minutes - to fully appreciate your visit. And the exit from the oak forest is thrilling. This beautiful edifice has undergone numerous modifications, but its architecture remains resolutely Gothic and austere. The abbey was built by the Carmelite monks on a former religious site that was partly troglodyte, and is now privately owned.
