CHÂTEAU NOËL – SAINT LAURENT
The origins of this estate date back to the 13th century and the time when the Popes resided in Avignon. At that time, monks, under the direction of the Popes, were going to develop the vineyard. In the late 1940s, the Noël family took over the estate and tried to work in a way that respected this culture and history.
Today, the estate, which regularly receives awards, covers 40 hectares and is divided between PDO Côtes du Rhône wines (viognier, marsanne, roussane and bourboulenc for whites, grenache noir, syrah, mourvèdre, cinsault and carignan for reds) and PGI Pays de Vaucluseo wines (chardonnay, sauvignon, merlot and cabernet). The vines, planted on gently sloping hills, descend to the old bed of the Durance on clay-limestone soils.
