LA VERRERIE Castle
Wines and olive oil producer, Château La Verrerie received the approval of the AOC Oils of Provence in 2008 for its extra virgin olive oil and the year 2010 marks the first year of conversion of the whole field (vineyard and olive grove) into organic farming. Aglandau and Picholine are the 2 varieties of olive trees cultivated on 7.5 hectares well exposed in the south - south-east. Aglandau for its cold resistance (in Luberon, the temperatures are very fresh, in winter until -10°C!), it is a rustic variety giving a strong and full-boiled oil with a fresh almond taste, walnut, artichoke and freshly cut grass. Picholine is a green olive originally from Gard, the oil has a bitterness and a light spiciness, characterized by pome fruit flavours with notes of hay. Other products that you will find in the Boutique du Château area: a selection of delicacies around olive, black truffles and of course, AOP Luberon wine range of the estate "Esprit Bastide", "Château La Verrerie", "Grand Deffand" with a new rosé of gastronomy Grand Deffand Rosé 2015, as well as the "Viognier" in IGP Vaucluse.
