Cabasse, or Casa Bassa in Italian, which translates as house under the village, also means that the estate's roots go back to the 14th century. Alfred, Antoinette Haeni and their son Nicolas run a 15-hectare vineyard using integrated farming methods. Their wines are "ripe, supple and fleshy", like the rosé de Marie-Antoinette Séguret Côtes du Rhône villages, made by bleeding, balanced, round and fresh. Domaine de Cabasse is also a 3-star hotel.

We booked this hotel to experience staying in a winery outside of town. The setting is peaceful and beautiful. The hotel itself is well appointed and spacious. Our room was a good size with a nice bathroom. We paid for the half-board, which included a delicious dinner on the patio outside. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is a nice walk through the winery to the town on the hill. The pool looked inviting, but we did not swim. This is a wonderful place to stay in the countryside.
