LA GRANGE AUX PÉTROLETTES MOTORCYCLE MUSEUM
Unique and unusual place that will fascinate the lovers of two-wheelers and heritage in Chabrillan.
In the hilltop village of Chabrillan, a unique and truly unusual place that will fascinate lovers of two-wheelers and heritage. It all started with the purchase of a Malaguti, about thirty years ago. Since then, Camille Pourtier has passionately collected and restored more than a hundred motorcycles ranging from 50 to 1,300 cc. His collection is presented in a barn, hence the name of the museum. You can touch the chrome, stroke the exhaust pipes or blow the horn (not too much!). In addition to the motorcycles, a collection of 300 oil cans and a hundred or so objects (petrol pumps, enamelled plates, stamps, toys, advertising, etc.) goes back through history, from this venerable 1906 Alcyon to the era of the modern motorcycle via the Honda 500, 4 cylinders, from 1975, the motorcycle known as "priest or clergyman", the BMA (bicycles with auxiliary engine) of the 1930s, the Italian ones (Guzzi, Parilla) and even about fifteen bicycles of which the oldest dates from 1900! Meetings and exceptional moments rich in exchanges with enthusiasts that we could meet on the spot as "the Doctor", "the Puffer", JJP and Sir Juston, passionate about English motorcycles accompanied by the motorcycle artist and ex-pilot Michel Braem. There is also, among others, a 250 cm3 from Clément Dufaux. It is the oldest bike in the museum: it was born in 1902! Also a nice collection of bikes from the beginning of the last century.
