Châteauneuf-de-Galaure is known as the birthplace of the mystic Marthe Robin, founder of the Foyers de Charité. Many Catholics go there on pilgrimage. Marthe Robin (1902-1981), a leading Christian figure in the village, became - through her devotion to Christ - one of the central figures of the spiritual renewal of the Church.
