Drôme provençale is a land of honey, with a long tradition of beekeeping. APIDEA, an association for information and development in beekeeping, runs this very interesting museum of living bees. A fascinating educational space with glass-walled hives in operation, where you can observe the organization of a colony. You can catch a glimpse of the queen bee, or witness the dance that enables them to communicate to their fellow bees the location of fields to be foraged. There's also a collection of 100 traditional beehives from around the world.
