FÊTE DE LA TRANSHUMANCE
Year after year, we follow the flock of ewes as they pass through the small capital of the Diois region on their way to the mountain pastures of the Vercors.
A not-to-be-missed event in the Diois. This major celebration of pastoralism and the ewes on their way to the Vercors mountain pastures attracts a huge audience. The highlight of the weekend is early Saturday morning, when the flock passes through Die. Hundreds of ewes pass through the medieval town between two hedges of camera-wielding families. The climb to the mountain pastures takes 2 days. On Saturday, the Die market takes on the colors of the transhumance. At noon, it's grilled lamb. The final ascent takes place on Sunday. Exhibitions, meetings, shows.
