BOTANICAL VILLAGE
Village in La Chapelle-en-Vercors with massifs spread throughout the village in a profuse variety, covering the slopes.
La Chapelle-en-Vercors is a botanical village in the Drôme region of France, whose theme is "mountain perennials", herbaceous plants adapted to wide temperature variations, which are reborn in spring. The beds are spread throughout the village in an abundant variety, carpeting embankments, emerging from rocky outcrops, playing with light and shade, like so many colorful little gardens. They are maintained by volunteers from the Lou Vioulé association. Detailed fact sheets on the perennials in the collection are available from the tourist office.
