Romanesque Cistercian abbey of the 12th century offering a haven of quietude for meditation and resourcing in Léoncel.
Between the Col de Tourniol and the Col de la Bataille, this Cistercian abbey church, a Romanesque building whose origins date back to the 12th century, offers a haven of tranquillity, for meditation and rejuvenation. In 1790, the community of monks was greatly diminished, the abbey was dissolved and the abbey church became a parish church. The site fell into ruin. Since its foundation in 1974, the Association of the Friends of Leoncel has been committed to its restoration, cultural activities and the promotion of this remarkable heritage.
