Visit Romans-sur-Isère's old quarters, from the Jacquemart tower to the Saint-Barnard abbey.
From the Jacquemart tower, take the hill (downhill!) to the abbey of Saint-Barnard which is located in the lower part of the city along the quays. Along the streets you will discover the Pêcherie district where the dyers used to work, the Presle district... And of course the private mansions, with their interior courtyards, in the flamboyant Gothic and Italian Renaissance styles, which adjoin Saint-Barnard. Take the opportunity to have a bite to eat and discover some artists and craftsmen. However, we can regret the number of disused shops...
