CERAMIC HOUSE
The Maison de la Céramique is one of the most instructive and exciting places to visit in the Drôme des Collines region. A veritable center of activity where past and future meet to present visitors with all the facets of ceramic materials. Ceramic was the first material to be modified by human hands to create useful objects. While the first potters of 6,500 years ago surely had no idea that such a center could be dedicated to their art, today's curious visitors can't fail to wander through an interactive space where they can discover all the often little-known ways in which our earth can be put to good use. Organized around thematic islands, the "La terre dans tous ses états" (Earth in all its states) exhibition presents all the traditional facets - crockery with the famous "bleus" from Saint-Uze, pottery... - and modern applications - in medicine, communication, aeronautics... - of this age-old art. Don't hesitate to ask about the dates of workshops organized by the Maison de la Céramique to get your hands dirty. Temporary exhibitions throughout the year: ask for details.
