DOMAINE DU JAS
The Domaine du Jas has belonged to the same family since 1874. In 1978, Raphaël Pradelle makes for the first time his own wine. He is soon joined by his fls Hubert: going even further than his father in the philosophy of respect for the environment, it converts to organic farming and 100% manual harvesting. In 2001, it passes under AB (organic agriculture) certification. But that is not everything. Pierre Pradelle, the son of Hubert and his wife Anne-Marie, joined the family farm and brought his own stone to the building. For a better «recovery of the soil and the plant in its natural environment thanks to preparations from plant, animal and mineral materials applied at precise times. The privileged grape varieties are Syrah for the red and the viognier for white, to which it should be added the traditional Grenache, mourvèdre, cinsault, white Grenache… In total the area consists of 38 ha of vines (mostly in red) as côtes-du-rhône, côtes-du-rhône-villages and, recently, côtes-du-rhône-villages-visan.
