SAINT CHRISTOPHER'S CHAPEL
Chapel built on an ancient Roman temple dedicated to Hercules, nowadays known by the locals in Tain-l'Hermitage.
Legend has it that this chapel was built on an ancient Roman temple dedicated to Hercules. Then in 1220, a hermit, the knight of Stérimberg, came to take refuge there. He was the very first to plant vines on this hill. This is how the Hermitage appellation was born. Bought and restored by the Jaboulet family, this chapel is now a well-known place for the locals. With a magnificent view over the Rhône and the valley, the sunset is particularly enjoyable!
