PAUL CIBERT MINIATURE MUSEUM
Museum with more than 70 displays of figurines that explain the origin of the museum, the history of the figurine...
Museums dedicated to toy soldiers can be counted on the fingers of one hand. The one in Tulette, the second most important in France, houses more than seventy display cases of figurines that explain the origin of the museum, the history of the figurine and the history of France, from prehistory to the present day, representing medieval knights and kings of France. Original and surprising, this museum is installed in a former silk milling room. It is a succession of small scenes in miniature that one discovers there completely fascinating around the battle of Rocroy, the regiments of Provence, the Great War, etc... More thematic showcases are dedicated to the history of the military costume, to that of the carriage or to that of the transport of wine. Further on, you will discover the different brotherhoods of the Côtes du Rhône. Admire the model of the castle of Chamaret as well as the foundry created by the late Paul Cibert, founder of the museum, which was used for the realization of lead figurines. However, the largest part of the museum is devoted to the Napoleonic era, with notably the diorama of the battle of Borodino declined on 21m2, with more than 13,000 hand-painted figurines, that is to say 15 years of hard work from the founder of the museum. However, new items are regularly displayed, such as the new showcase dedicated to the imaginary worlds of Warhammer Battle and Warhammer 40,000.
