This structure - SPCAL for Surveillance, Protection and Capture of Animals - is better known under its former name of Animal Pound. Its mission is to collect, treat and tattoo if necessary the animals roaming on 70 communes including Valence, Bourg-lès-Valence... Animals not claimed by their owners within eight days are entrusted to ASPA for adoption. If you find a stray animal you can contact the pound or even drop it off there if you have managed to approach it, but always be careful. Good to know: Individuals who find an animal should call their city hall or the municipal police before calling the pound.
