Born in 1938, it is the first official structure for school sport. The aim: to encourage the practice of school sports and facilitate its organization by centralizing it. High school students can practise their favourite sport thanks to the National Union of School Sports, as a leisure activity but also at a national level by participating in competitions. The UNSS aims to promote sports initiation, the discovery of sports and the pleasure of practicing sports, and to develop the values of associative life and training in refereeing. It is the third largest sports federation in France (after football and tennis), with nearly one million members!
