The former IUFM of Valencia has become, like all the other IUFM (Instituts universitaires de formation des maîtres) in France, the ESPE: École supérieure du professorat et de l'éducation. The Valencia ESPE depends on the Grenoble Academy and trains school teachers. In rural classes, we still say "teacher" and "mistress"... The profession has evolved in recent years. From now on, the ESPE is accessible after a Master 2 and by competition. A certain level of language and computer skills is required. The Valencia branch offers a mention of training in teaching, education and training (MEEF): school teacher (PE) in M1 and M2.
